Social Class
MenMen were upper class. In Athens only men could be citizens. In Sparta men were soldiers. Men were believed to be more important than women. Men could do anything they wanted.

Women/ChildrenWomen and children were middle class. They could order slaves but not the men. Women in Sparta were trained to be strong like the men. In Athens they stayed home, cleaned, and trained daughters to be wives.

SlavesSlaves were of the lowest class. In Sparta Helots were murdered when they grew to strong. In Athens they were treated well and could do many things. These slaves were often taken from other countries.
