Sparta
Sparta was a brutal place to live. When you were born, if you were male, you would be taken to the elders. If you did not pass the test you would be left on a hilltop to die. If not at the age of 8 you would go to school to be trained on being a soldier until you are 21.
In Sparta both men and women were strong. Men were ruthless and cold. They had no emotions. Women were trained to be strong because they believed it helped them under-go childbirth easier. Sparta was the war capital of ancient Greece. |

AthensAthens was one of the most powerful cities in Greece. They were based on Academics. To become a citizen of Athens was very hard. You had to be a free born, and your parents have to be citizens of Athens.
In Athens they chose their government by luck or by "lot." To do this they often put names all together and drew them until they had enough. This may or may not have been a good idea. It could be a good idea so everyone had a chance to be part of the government. But it has its downs to evil, power hungry men might be chosen and want more power. |
