Their Religion
The Greeks were polytheistic witch means they believed in more than one god. They had Gods of many things, such as dolphins, decisions, and cows. Some of these things may sound weird but the Greeks had a god for everything that happened to them.
The Greeks had a story for how they were made. Two titan brothers fought with the gods in the war vs all the other titans. They were given the task to recreate the humans and animals. The brother in charge of making humans was Prometheus, his brother gave all the gifts to the animals and the humans had nothing. So, he went to Zeus to ask to give humans fire. Zeus said no, but Prometheus took fire anyways. When Zeus found out he was mad. He chained Prometheus to a rock and every day giant eagles came down to eat his liver. After the Greeks died they went to the underworld. It is ruled by Hades, lord of the dead. There are four places in the underworld first, Elysium, for the heroes second, Fields of Asphodel, for the good people third, Fields of Punishment, for the wicked and last, Tartarus, for the extremely wicked. Once dead they would be judged to see witch they would go to. They stayed there fror the rest of their existence. |
